Last night, on Yom Kippur, at around 7:10 P.M. A shooting took place outside of a synagogue in Belleville, Ontario.

A man in a truck armed with a rifle arrived outside of the Sons of Jacob Synagogue, where allegedly opened fire on a police officer. The officer returned fire along with a second officer, causing the suspect to go down.

The officer was admitted to the ICU and is currently in critical but stable condition. Sean Ward, the suspect, is also in hospital with life threatening injuries and is currently in stable condition.

People of every religion should be able to worship safely and live without fear. The Republic of Checkland extends its deepest condolences to the family of the injured officer and the Jewish community of Belleville during this time.

The Renewal Party has called for a snap election, suggesting that our government no longer holds the trust of the people. Let me be clear: such claims are nothing more than political theare. What Checkland needs is not turmoil and uncertainty, but stability, progress, and steady leadership.

I was elected to serve this nation and its citizens, and I take that duty seriously. My government has worked tirelessly to strengthen our institutions, expand opportunity, and uphold the freedoms that define Checkland. From defending our sovreignty to building our cultural and social identity, our administration has consistently delivered results where it matteres most.

The Renewal Party offers no plan, no policy, and no vision only disruption and division. Their call for an election is not about giving people a voice; it is about undermining the progress we have made together.
