The Province of West Devon was officially founded on November 2nd, 2026, succeeding the former Province of Timbourough and is named in honour of Devon, Nova Scotia.

Timbourough had experienced a prolonged three month electoral stalemate, leaving the provincial government unable to move forward effectively. In response, the then Premier introduced a motion to dissolve and subsequently re establish the Province under a new administration.

Since its founding, West Devon's primary objectives have been to rebuild and strengthen the Province's economic, social, and political institutions, addressing the significant challenges inherited from the former Province of Timbourough and establishing a more stable, effective, and prosperous future for its residents.
